Panama-na

There is something about a good hat that instantly lends finish and personality to an outfit, no matter what it might be. I have a gorgeous friend who often wears hats, looks amazing and every time I leave her and her hat-wearing presence I’m left thinking about taking the plunge and becoming a hatter myself. And so, this summer, I will.

The classic straw Panama is almost fool-proof and so I’m declaring it my gateway hat. Panama-na!

Brilliant

Creating and working has always been a constantly evolving process for me which has lead in many different directions. My current obsession with colour, jewellery and over-accessorising has led me to this latest venture, expanding and refining my jewellery brand into it’s own, Brilliant.

Brilliant includes the currently available raw crystal rings as well as some exciting new designs. Including these luxe friendship bracelets which combine bold, bright stripes with stunning vintage glass gems. Each one is unique and handmade with care. Orange & Pink

Orange and pink is one of those combinations that has the potential to be a total mess, but somehow manages to look so fantastic 99% of the time. As the evenings get longer here in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s hard not to think about pink jeans and orange blazers ( just me?). Take inspiration from all things summery: sunsets, tequila sunrises and traffic light popsicles.

Modern prep

Mixing bright colours with a relaxed attitude stops preppy being stuffy. It’s a cute and sunny look that still adds some polish to casual dressing. Coloured blazers, chunky knits, satchels and cuffed trousers all make a perfect preppy ensemble and don’t be afraid to add some elbow patches.

Leather skirts

A ladylike full skirt flatters almost every body. Slipper time

So long as images of Hugh Hefner in his silk dressing gown get out of your head, slipper style loafers in luxe velvet, unexpected colours, embellishments and studs are the new ballet flat. Edgy enough to still get comments from bemused looking old ladies but comfy enough to wear all day, everyday.
